Nicole Gordon LMSW | Licensed Social Worker at Tokyo Mental Health
Nicole is a social worker from the United States.
She graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from New York University in New York City, in 2016, and obtained her Social Work license in the same year.
While studying to obtain her Master’s degree, she interned at University Settlement Society of New York, providing therapy for older adults, as well as spending time in Buenos Aires Argentina providing community art therapy for young children. After graduating with a Master’s in Social Work she worked for HELP USA’s Genesis Supportive Housing branch performing counseling and providing various forms of support to formerly homeless families.
Nicole is passionate about collaborating with people to maximize their strengths and resources, while promoting an understanding of the influence of external factors on individual mental health. Her theoretical orientation is a combination of cognitive behavioral, systems theory, and intersectionality. She specializes in the use of cognitive behavioral and group therapy alongside mindfulness practice, in adults, for anxiety disorders and culture shock.
