TMH Okinawa Mihama Therapy Office offers face to face and telehealth counseling services for the English-speaking adolescent and adult population in Okinawa. We can accept self-referral for clients who wish to see our therapists on a pay-for-service basis – please check with your insurer, including TRICARE Select and TRICARE Plus, if they will accept retrospective claims.
For people interested in being seen by TMH Okinawa who hold TRICARE Prime, we can also offer services for you. You would need an authorization from your base services. Please discuss referral with your MTF.
Services are provided by licensed professionals with native English and international experience.
Convenient Location
Our office is located in Mihama, Chatan (next to the American Village) on Route 58. Convenient access from most military bases, international schools and universities. 10 minutes drive from Kadena Base Gate 1, 10 minutes drive from Foster Commissary Gate.

Adam Bates Psy.D.
Adam received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles campus. At TMH, Adam works with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges, using cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered counseling, and emotionally focused therapy based approaches. Through providing sincere empathy, warmth, caring, and unconditional positive regard, Adam offers a safe place for people to tell their whole story, including their strengths and resources, and feel deeply understood while also gaining greater insight and becoming more of an expert on themselves.
Shahroze Suzuki M.Phil.
Shahroze Suzuki has a Masters, M.Phil. in Professional Psychology from Bahria University Karachi Campus in Pakistan. He has accumulated clinical experience working in services employing psychiatric treatment models as well as those that offer psychological therapies and interventions. Shahroze’s experience has led him to understand that therapy may be daunting for some clients initially and it is important to make therapy a safe place, without judgement and bias. Shahroze strives to create an atmosphere of acceptance with the client from the first session so that they can start their journey of mental health with utmost confidence.
