For those in Japan, I wanted to provide this link to International Mental Health Professionals Japan (IMHPJ) of which I am currently the board secretary. The IMHPJ website is a very useful resource for those who are seeking to find a counselor or psychotherapist in just the Kanto/Tokyo area or anywhere in Japan. IMHPJ is a Japan-based organization that only accepts as clinical and associate clinical members those who have undertaken sufficient training with supervision and have sufficient experience to work as therapists for the foreign community in Tokyo. It also has a code of ethics that members must sign up to. In this way, its goal is to help potential clients find suitable, qualified, and ethical counselors and psychotherapists in Tokyo and across Japan. IMHPJ also provides seminars, training meetings, case conferences and an annual conference for its members. If you are looking for a therapist for anything from relationship counseling to psychotherapy for anxiety or depression, then I think it is worth checking their website.
